FREEDOM RIDER: A COMMUNITY COLLABORATION
For the world premiere of Freedom Rider at Alabama Shakespeare Festival, we are proud to partner with the Freedom Rides Museum (an Alabama Historical Commission property) to offer patrons an immersive installation from its collection of award-winning exhibits tracing the Freedom Riders’ tumultous journey through the South.
In addition to these exhibit pieces from the Freedom Rides Museum, you’ll also see original artwork celebrating the 60th anniversary of of the Freedom Rides, thanks to the Friends of the Freedom Rides Museum and students from Booker T. Washington Magnet High School. Out on ASF’s grounds and the grounds of the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, you’ll find an installation of prints of the original student artworks featured in the digital book A Legacy of Good Trouble: A 60th Anniversary Art Exhibit.
