Student Matinees

Bring Learning to Life

SchoolFest student matinees at Alabama Shakespeare Festival bring your lessons to life on stage. Let us enhance your teaching program through invigorating performances that offer students insight and transformative experiences.

Each year thousands of students from across Alabama and the Southeast attend SchoolFest weekday student matinees. These experiences provide an opportunity for students to see curriculum-linked productions at reduced prices.

The 2019-2020 SchoolFest Season features dynamic titles offering a broad range of curriculum tie-ins ― Shakespeare (Hamlet; A Midsummer Night’s Dream; The Comedy of Errors), historical narratives (Saint Joan; All Is Calm; The Agitators; And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank), children’s literature (The Cat in the Hat; The Best Christmas Pageant Ever), tales from the civil rights movement (Alabama Story; Ruby: The Story of Ruby Bridges), and a Walt Whitman homework assignment at the center of a must-see production (I and You).
