Perfect for emerging triple threats, this NEW pilot camp introduces our youngest campers to the core mechanics of musical theatre. Campers will be free to release their wiggles in a high-energy week of acting, singing, and dancing as they build confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills.
The week culminates in a 30-minute showcase for family, friends, and fans to enjoy! This will be a unique opportunity to be among the first emerging performers in a camp of this kind at ASF.

This half-day camp allows kids ages five to eight (5 – 8) to express themselves with creative play and theatre games while unlocking the secrets of Shakespeare’s craft in a fun and engaging low-stakes environment. It’s great preparation for Camp Shakespeare!
Campers will learn all about William Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors and investigate the play’s themes, while preparing an original performance for family, friends, and fans!

This camp is perfect for energetic and creative young minds ready to have fun this summer! At Camp Shakespeare, you’ll be immersed in a week of acting, stage combat, movement/dance, voice, and technical theatre training from ASF theatre professionals. At the close of the week, you’ll be ready for a real Shakespearean performance for friends and family to enjoy!
Get ready to explore one of Shakespeare’s silliest comedies full of mix-ups and mistaken identities! This year our campers will study acting, voice, movement, combat and rehearse scenes for an original camp production of The Comedy of Errors. Is your child a budding “triple threat” who loves to act, sing, and dance? Or maybe they just want to have fun, release some wiggles, and make new lifelong friends? Either way, this camp offers an unforgettable experience where every camper can find their “light.”
This year, we’re thrilled to offer campers the opportunity to shine in an exciting, one-of-a-kind performance of Disney’s Finding Nemo KIDS! Get ready to dive into the world of theatre and develop acting, singing, and dancing skills, while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
Performance dates: Friday, June 26, at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 27, at 1:00 p.m.

ABOUT THE SHOW
When Nemo, a curious young clownfish, is unexpectedly taken far from home, his cautious dad Marlin sets out on a big ocean adventure to find him. Along the way, they meet unforgettable sea friends, face their fears, and discover the power of courage, trust, and family in a colorful world beneath the waves. Featuring memorable songs like “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Disney’s Finding Nemo KIDS brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure. Get ready to move like your favorite sea creature and have a lot of fun! Rising 4th through 8th graders of all experience levels are encouraged to register for this camp.
***Casting Note: Campers will participate in a low-stakes audition for roles on the first day of camp. Casting is designed to help each student build confidence and grow as a performer while contributing to a strong ensemble. Although there are roles available for every child, specific role preferences cannot be guaranteed.***

Get a backstage pass to what happens behind the curtain at ASF! Join us for an exploration in technical theatre. It takes a pretty large team to make theatre magic possible. Students in this tech camp will gain hands-on experience working with technical theatre pros in costumes, scenery, lighting, design, and management.
Students will provide the technical elements for the Broadway JUNIOR camp’s performances of Disney’s Finding Nemo KIDS and participate in a Technical Theatre Olympics challenge with their peers! This hands-on technical theatre camp is appropriate for rising 8th to 12th graders of all experience levels.

All the fun of Camp Shakespeare, but to the EXTREME. This camp gives our older campers a chance to dive deeper into character creation, learn to move with confidence around the stage, and discover how to use their voices to command and captivate an audience. Are you ready to achieve the EXTREME?
This year’s theme: “The Masks We Wear.” The final showcase for family and friends will ask the questions, “Who are we when no one is watching?” and “How do we see ourselves vs. the world?” Campers will sharpen their acting chops by exploring scenes from Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors, Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar, and more!

New York and Broadway’s most talented actors, singers, and dancers perform on ASF stages, and now you can too. Prepare to learn voice, choreography, and acting skills taught by acclaimed guest artists and ASF pros during this two-week intensive of workshops and rehearsals that will culminate in an electrifying musical theatre showcase open to the community. Get ready to find your light and focus your passion!
Featured masterclass offerings will include (but are not limited to) individual coaching, audition skills, acting the song, movement techniques, and the theatre professional/show “business.”

Join us for this popular adult acting camp that focuses on exploration, discovery, and ensemble work. Adult participants will engage with scenes and monologues from Shakespeare’s plays while mining language, rhythm, and intention.
Whether returning to Shakespeare or encountering the work for the first time, actors of all experience levels will find space to take risks, ask questions, and grow.
Greg Thornton served as a longtime resident actor with ASF for 20 seasons; notable roles include Atticus Finch, Claudius, Cyrano, Henry IV, and Macbeth. Most recently, Greg was seen as the Friar in ASF’s 2026 production of Much Ado About Nothing, Egeus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Gonzalo in ASF’s 2023 production of The Tempest. Greg has worked in many of the leading and Tony Award-winning companies of the U.S., including the Old Globe, Denver Center Theatre Company, McCarter Theatre, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse, GEVA Theatre, Playmakers Rep, Pioneer Theatre, and Orlando Shakes. Greg was the founding Artistic Director of the Cloverdale Playhouse here in the River Region.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors in the Selma community, we are proud to offer this brand-new camp at no cost to participating campers or their families. At Camp Shakespeare, you’ll be immersed in a week of acting, stage combat, movement/dance, voice, and technical theatre training from ASF theatre professionals.
