Schoolfest Student Matinees
Bring Learning to Life
Schoolfest matinees at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival bring your lessons to life on stage. Let us enhance your teaching program through exciting, invigorating performances that offer students an experience that makes learning fun and exciting. Each year thousands of students from across Alabama and the Southeast attend Schoolfest weekday K-12 student matinees. These weekday matinees provide an opportunity for students to see curriculum-linked productions at greatly reduced prices.
Schoolfest Lunch Partners like Chick-Fil-A and Jason’s Deli offer discounts to school groups and will deliver to our location. Space for on site lunch is limited, so be sure to make these arrangements when ordering your tickets.
Before You Reserve
Please take note of our grade level recommendations. The Alabama Shakespeare Festival asks the group leader to take responsibility for whether a play is appropriate or not for their particular group. The Alabama Shakespeare Festival does not censor or edit the content of the Schoolfest performances. Due to the nature of live theatre information on language, setting, and length will be available closer to the opening of the show. We will answer your questions about the plays to the best of our ability.
Babes in arms and children under the age of 3 are not admitted to the theatre. Some children’s theatre productions are intended for ages lower than 3 years, and in those cases the appropriate ages will be posted on informational materials about those productions. Please see our brochure and web site for specific age recommendations for each play in our season.
All performances start promptly at 10:00 AM unless otherwise noted.
