COVID-19 Updates, Policies, and Resources

Alabama Shakespeare Festival is committed to doing all we can to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our community. The pandemic forced ASF to cancel or postpone performances and events this season. Please see below for information about canceled or postponed productions or events for which you may have tickets.

Cancellations:

  • Alabama Story, March 15-22
  • Ruby, March 15-22
  • A Midsummer Night’s Dream, March 25-28
  • The Comedy of Errors, April 16-26
  • I and You, April 23-May 3
  • Southern Writers Festival, May 15-17
  • ASF Summer Camps, June 8-July 24

If you purchased tickets to a canceled performance, there is nothing you need to do right now. Please consider donating the value of your tickets to help ASF remain strong and ready to Play On! when we can resume production. If you cannot donate your tickets, we will hold your ticket purchase on account for a future event or production.

Postponements:

  • Stages, March 27-29
  • The Moth Mainstage, May 8
  • Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, June 16-July 12
  • Million Dollar Quartet, August 6-23
  • Special events and tours

If you purchased tickets to a production or event that is postponed, there is nothing you need to do right now. When the schedule is finalized, we will continue to hold your place, and our Box Office will be in touch with updates as soon as possible. If you prefer, you may donate the value of your tickets for postponed productions and events to help ASF remain strong and ready to Play On!

ASF will continue to update patrons and ticket buyers on these and upcoming productions via email, our website, our social media channels, and our media partners.

The resulting cancellation of various public events will have very real financial consequences for theatres and theatre artists. Nationwide, thousands of theatre professionals’ jobs and healthcare are at stake. Transferring your ticket to a donation or credit supports ASF during these uncertain times, and we appreciate your consideration.

If you have questions, please contact our Box Office at BoxOffice@asf.net.

In the interest of public safety, the Box Office is currently closed to the public until further notice, and onsite staffing is limited as we work to maintain a safe environment for our employees. We appreciate your patience as our Box Office staff processes requests.

Thank you for supporting ASF, particularly at this time. We hope you are joining us as we continue to create online at ASF.net/PlayOn.

The coronavirus pandemic has had an overwhelming economic impact on Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

With your support, we look forward to coming back stronger than ever.

Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated.
